The walking version of the Prada dam is the most accessible way into Montesinho — short, easy and full of nature.

Nature for everyone. The path is wide, with very gentle gradients and no technical difficulty, making it a safe choice for families and children, or for anyone new to walking. It is the "little piece of hill" that serves as a taster of the Natural Park.

Birds and water. Early on, a short detour leads to the Charca da Vidoeira, a good birdwatching spot. As you go, Travanca comes into view to the north before the path heads to the Prada dam — a reservoir important for farming, with a broad sheet of water.

The irrigation channels. By the dam, the route follows the clearly visible irrigation channels, which explain its role in the land. It is also here that you sense how water shapes the farming life of Vinhais, before the final return to the Parque Biológico.

With its short distance and easy surface, it is the walking route to begin discovering Montesinho without demands.
