In the south of the municipality, where olive growing sets the tone, this route is deliberately short — to allow an unhurried visit to Agrochão's three museums: the Olive Oil Museum and Old Press, the Sacred Art Museum and the Rural Ethnographic Museum. The first stop is the Olive Oil Museum, where the production process is explained; then the route heads to the fields, but first visits the Sanctuary of Divino Senhor da Piedade, a religious landmark with a panoramic view over the village and the famous olive groves of Agrochão, ridden on well-kept farm tracks. On the return, it re-enters the main street by the parish church (visit suggested, along with the new Sacred Art Museum); a few metres on is the Rural Ethnographic Museum. The route crosses the heart of the village along the Rua Direita, and on the way out passes the imposing Sá Morais Palace, of a family once prominent in the region's farming and cultural life.Quick answers
