To the top of the Serra da Coroa, land of the Iberian wolf
One of the great walks in the Montesinho Natural Park, the Rota dos Lobos climbs to the highest point in the municipality via the Serra da Coroa, an area known to be home to the Iberian wolf. The view from the summit is 360°, taking in almost the entire municipality, and the return route passes through villages such as Dine and Fresulfe, near the dam’s water channels.

For those who enjoy long walks at altitude. From the Parque Biológico, the route climbs by farm tracks and through the village of Travanca to the top of the Serra da Coroa, the highest point of the municipality. It is called the Wolf Trail because it runs beneath the central massif of the Serra da Coroa, a known crossing point of the Iberian wolf. More than a promise of a sighting — always rare — it is a tribute and a call to awareness for this species. Between forest and open ground it is more likely to see roe deer, foxes and golden eagles. From the summit the view is 360°, reaching the border and the Spanish mountains; if the watchtower is free, it is worth climbing for an even better view. The descent runs down the opposite slope, with sight of villages such as Dine and Fresulfe, almost to Prada, alongside the dam's irrigation channels.Quick answers
