The essence of this route begins at a house on the edge of the village, with traces of the medieval Jewish presence, before descending to the banks of the Rio Rabaçal towards its mouth at the Rio Mente, by the bridge to São Jomil. This stretch combines archaeology and river landscape, offering a territorial reading of the communities that once lived in the region. Climbing through Vale de Armeiro, the route reaches the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Penha de França, a Marian sanctuary of local devotion, and the Fraga das Ferraduras — where oral tradition records the appearance of Our Lady to a young shepherdess, leaving horseshoe marks pressed into the rock and a spring held to be miraculous. The pilgrimage of 14–15 August is one of the most popular in the municipality, underlining the site's religious importance. The return to Rebordelo passes the Rebordelo Cooperative Winery, a chance to learn about the local productive fabric, before following the historic village streets that close the itinerary. The route weaves three layers: the medieval Jewish heritage, the Marian sacred and contemporary rural life, all within a few kilometres.
